Wood Wardens were invited to join the Welwyn Garden City Health Walk held in Sherrardspark Wood on 23 July 2015. Hertfordshire Health Walks, part of the national Walking for Health campaign, are co-ordinated by Countryside Management Service and supported by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council. The walks are designed to promote walking for well being. They are free, guide-led, and are suitable for people of all ages and abilities.

The walk was attended by the Mayor, Lynne Sparks, who was interested to hear about Sherrardspark Wood Wardens. In the course of the walk the Mayor and the walkers met the Thursday work party and talked to them about their activities.

About 50 people joined the three mile walk through the woods and adjacent roads.  The enjoyment of the day was enhanced by the beautiful weather and good conversation. A programme of regular health walks in Sherrardspark Wood throughout the year is being prepared.
