On Sunday 3rd November the Wood Wardens working party again visited the Old Church Yard at Ayot St Peter to join local volunteers clearing vegetation.
A similar working party the previous November cleared much of the area, leading to a brilliant display of daffodils and other spring flowers earlier in the year.
This time large quantities of holly and other vegetation were removed to open up the churchyard grounds still further. After initial struggles to get it going properly a large bonfire dealt with the cuttings.
Work done the woodwardens enjoyed generous hospitality of mulled wine and mince pies at Valerie Richards' home nearby. Now we wait for next spring...
