After prolonged rain this winter many paths in the woods are extremely muddy - and some are under water!
This has been a very wet winter. Ponds like the one next to the Greenway are full and there is plenty of water flowing along the drainage ditches.
The Wood Wardens are doing our best to keep paths in good repair and drainage channels clear, but sometimes there is just too much water and the mud takes over. It is particularly difficult to keep on top of this at the moment as work parties are suspended due to coronavirus restrictions.
Nearly all paths are still passable but many are very muddy and some, as you can see in the photograph, are actually under a few inches of water. Do come and enjoy the woods - but bring good boots!
