The path through the wood behind Reddings used to degenerate into a swamp after wet weather but not any more.
Work parties have been carrying out major improvement to a significant stretch of this path.
Like similar improvements made further north on the same path in previous winters this has involved laying wooden battens for the sides, a rough stone core which lifts the level above the surrounding ground and a fine stone covering which is hammered down giving an even surface. After hundreds of hours of work by our volunteers the new path is finished and ready for winter.
