It may be cold but the woods are beautiful at every time of year.  They aren't even as muddy as they once were, after all the work Wood Wardens have done to improve paths in the worst spots.

Trees bushes and heather sparkling with frost, ponds under hard layer of ices, shafts of sunlight on the bare trunks penetrating the wood in ways it never does when the trees are in full leaf, there is so much to enjoy on a fine day in winter.
