We now have an Alaskan mill.  No, not a transatlantic property purchase but a useful bit of machinery for using timber from the larger trees felled in our woods.

Nothing felled, or which falls, in our woods goes to waste.  The larger tree trunks are an excellent source of timber for benches and other places where planks are needed.  With our recently acquired Alaskan mill we can process much of this ourselves without having to hire larger machinery such as the Mizer sawmill.

In this video you can see David and Graham using the mill.  The timber from this work will be used to make steps at nearby Mardley Heath, one of the venues outside Sherrardspark wood where the wood wardens occasionally help out.
